665 East Millport Rd · Lititz, Pennsylvania 17543 · United States

Welcome to the first unlocked day! Happy to have you here!  😊

I thought for today I would tell you a little about where all of these messages will be coming from:

Lititz, Pennsylvania

Lititz was founded by members of the Moravian Church in 1756 and was named after a castle in Bohemia near the village of Kunvald where the ancient Bohemian Brethren's Church had been founded in 1457. The roots of the Moravian Brethren's Church date back to the ancient Bohemian Brethren's Church.

Lititz Post Office

The Lititz Post Office was established in 1806. Since back then almost every town in America had a post, these buildings were chosen to represent high quality artwork. Postal patrons could enjoy the works as they purchased U.S. stamps. This artwork became a truly democratic form of helping Americans to heal after the very depressing years they had just endured.

During a part of the American Revolution, the Brethren's House, built in 1759, was used as a hospital. A number of soldiers died and were buried there. Lititz is also home to Linden Hall School, the oldest all-girls boarding school in the United States. Located adjacent to the Moravian Church, Linden Hall School was founded by the Moravians in 1746, a decade before the borough was incorporated.

The Linden Hall School still operates today as an independent educational institution for only girls ages 11 to 18 years old. Tuition is very expensive, costing over $62,000 per year with multiple extracurricular activities available, including equestrian riding, soccer, tennis, volleyball, cross country, golf, basketball, archery, and dance. Upper school students can even participate in an aviation program through which they can earn a pilot's license at the nearby airport.

In 2013, Lititz was announced the winner of Budget Travel's "America's Coolest Small Towns" competition from among 15 other finalists. At the heart of the town in downtown there is a chocolate factory called Wilbur. Unfortunately it closed in 2016 but the legacy still holds a culture that smells sweet.

The factory has now been converted into housing and The Wilbur Hotel. The smell of chocolate is still present in the air.

This small town also hosts an array of large rock vibes! Live music's biggest stars flock to this "Amish Paradise". Rock Lititz is a campus where some of the biggest production companies in the live events industry innovate with resources from design, to engineering, to rehearsals. Both TAIT Towers and Clair Global are headquarterd there, making Lititz one of the largest staging, theater, and audio unit providers in the entire world. TAIT also retrofitted Theater De Maagd, located in the Netherlands.

Rock Lititz

Bon Jovi, Katy Perry, Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, and many more artists travel through Lititz to test their stage equipment and to help prepare for their shows around the world.

Located at the center is the famous Lititz Springs Park. A natural underground spring has been flowing through this town creating a lovely place to walk and relax. Many events are held here, including the annual 4th of July celebration and the "Fire and Ice" festival.

The park brings life to the city (literally). Hundreds of years old, the water still bubbles up from the ground.

I hope you have enjoyed this first day and learned a bit about this tiny spot on the map that has a big heart  ❤️
